The Junction, Preston, Melbourne

Plenty of room for strollers

The Junction is where we go when we want a relaxed, baby-friendly environment but still want to feel like adults. The decor and atmosphere aren't too shabby despite being baby-friendly. When we were last there,  some nice jazz music was in the background which wasn't too loud. There's plenty of room for strollers, high chairs and the staff are nice.

Eve selecting from the wine menu - we all ended up with water

There is a quite wide selection of bistro foods. The food is quite average - can't complain but not very memorable. Portion sizes are usually pretty good. The price is quite reasonable and given the nice atmosphere, we can't complain. During this visit my husband ordered Barramundi with chips and salad. I wanted the same, but I get sick of chips being used as filler for so many bistro meals. They were quite happy to substitute it with potatoes and vegetables which I was quite pleased with. Overall, a nice casual (but not too shabby), relaxed night out.
